Downtown Masters Program

September - Early November 2016

Coach - Emily Chadwell

VBC's Masters is available to all VBC members.  The program has several goals including skills development, fitness and training, team building and competition.  The program serves both male and female rowers with an intermediate skill level and above.  Participants may have a variety of interests and goals including recreational rowing, low-key competition or major competition up to the national level.

Rowers will be grouped according to rowing experience and level of interest in competition.  Regularly scheduled practices are Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6:00 PM and Saturday mornings at 8:00 AM at the Downtown Boathouse.  Rowers should arrive 15 minutes early to take equipment down.  Rowers should  always show up regardless of weather conditions unless otherwise notified.  If weather or water conditions are prohibitive, team members will have indoor training and fitness activities such as erging and circuit training.

While attendance at every practice session is not required, set crews are important to skill and team development.  Boat seatings are at the team captains' discretion and determined by fitness, skill levels, competition goals and practice availability.  The captains will work with participants to form boats with rowers of similar interests and goals.

Participants must sign up by 5:00 pm each Sunday for the following week on Google Docs.

The coaching fee is $60 for this session.
